Modeling and Ride Simulation of Heavy Commercial Vehicle using ADAMS.

PROJECT

Commercial Vehicle : Modeling and Ride Simulation of Heavy Commercial Vehicle using ADAMS.

OBJECTIVE

The objective of this project was to understand the ride behavior of a 4X2 Truck by doing different test and developing a multi-body model. It was also required to correlate the simulation results with actual four-poster results.

INPUT

Primary subsystems used to model the full vehicle are front leafspring suspension, rear leaf spring with helper spring suspension, flexible chassis, flexible cabin, cargo, powertrain, tires, etc.
Time-domain test data input as excitation input at four actuators.

MODEL

Full vehicle model

Rear leafspring suspension

RESULT

Acceleration Vs Time plots at many locations on the vehicle model.

CONCLUSION

Reasonable correlation between test and simulation model were obtained. Customer was able to do further design study analysis using simulation model by varying specific design parameters.
