Tractor: Customization and implementation of steering linkage mechanism using ADAMS/View.

OBJECTIVE

The objective of this project was to develop and implement a customized tool to try different design variations for a tractor Steering Mechanism

INPUT

Mass, inertia of primary steering system parts, hardpoints, gear ratios, etc

MODEL

RESULT

Standard suspension/steering characteristic output data such as Ackerman angle, Ackerman error, turn radius, toe-angle, joint forces, etc., w.r.t steering wheel angle input.

CONCLUSION

Customer was able to build and carry out steering mechanism simulation to get standard steering characteristic data such as Ackerman angle, Ackerman error, turn circle diameter, etc.
