Customization and Implementation of ADAMS/View and Solver for Heavy Commercial Vehicle Handling Simulation maneuvers.

OBJECTIVE

The objective of this project was to develop and implement a customized ADAMS/View environment so that the engineers can build all subsystems and carry our handling maneuvers using a parameterized ADAMS model. The scope was also extended to tractor-trailer vehicles.

INPUT

Primary subsystems used to model the full vehicle are front leafspring suspension, rear leaf spring with helper spring suspension, flexible chassis, flexible cabin, cargo, powertrain, tires, etc. The different handling simulations that are simulated are Double Lane change, Step steer, Drift Steer, constant radius cornering, etc by using open/closed steering input motion.

RESULT

CONCLUSION

Customer was able to build and carry out handling simulations for various commercial vehicle models (LCV, HCV, Tractor-Trailer) to get specific vehicle handling outputs in a shorter duration.
